Why 2012?

Why 2012? Graham Hancock talks about 2012 in this short 9-10 minute interview. For those who do not know of Mr. Hancock, he is the author of the DVD documentary “In Search of the Lost Civilization” and numerous other books and recordings including “Fingerprints of the Gods” and “The Message of the Sphynx”.

Graham Hancock has been pushing the lost civilization message for some time now and a lot of what he says makes sense. Some of the material may seem “out there” if you are new to the whole “2012 / Mayan Calendar / Aliens have been to Earth” material but after you have been investigating this stuff for awhile much of what he says you’ll start finding in other places as well.

This doesn’t mean he is right or wrong, but I’ll tell you I was surprised while in Guatemala to run across evidence somewhat corroborating his theory about the Egyptians and travel across the oceans (or probably more accurate, a single source civilization prior to the Egyptians, the Maya and others). I went to some ruins and was totally taken aback when I found myself in front of 4-5 figurines (heads only) of the Egyptian God Anubis that had been excavated. There is no mistaking what the carvings were (pointy ears, long skinny nose, jackal-head) and in 2-3 years of travel I’ve never seen anything else like them, they are not normal Maya carvings in any sense.

I liked what Graham talked about prior to seeing these tiny statues and have since given even more credence to his work.
